CVCC Presents Business Ethics Presentation February 19 Featuring Chuck Gallagher

Chuck Gallagher ImageHow does a person go from successful young CPA to federal prisoner to corporate executive—all in 10 years? Find out Feb. 19 at noon when Chuck Gallagher shares the disastrous consequences that one bad choice had on his career, family and his entire life.

Sponsored by Catawba Valley Community College’s Accounting and Business Departments, Gallagher’s presentation will be held in CVCC’s Auditorium on the Main Campus in Hickory at noon. There is no fee to attend; the public is invited to attend.

Once a successful and admired CPA, Gallagher’s life took a wrong turn when he decided to embezzle clients’ trust funds to maintain the illusion of success. The consequences of that bad ethical decision sent him to federal prison for 18 months and three years of probation.

The author of “Second Chances: Transforming Adversity into Opportunity,” Gallagher will share his personal journey to redemption. He is a living example of how life gives you second chances when you make the right choices.

In his talk, he’ll share how and why his CPA firm didn’t detect his embezzlement, the damage done, and what the partners had to do to recover. He’ll show how just one person can take down an entire professional firm while the other partners don’t even realize it’s happening, until the damage is done.
