Catawba Valley Community College, Bunker Hill High School fire up summer welding

It may be summer, but Bunker Hill High is still offering some serious opportunities for area students interested in welding.

For the first time, Catawba Valley Community College (CVCC) expanded its welding program during the summer and is holding classes at Bunker Hill High for high school students.

Calvin Jackson graduated from Bunker Hill in June, and he doesn’t have a problem spending even more time at the school. Not only is he taking the CVCC class at Bunker Hill, but he’s earned a part-time position with Concept Frames in Newton.
