Corning to create 110 jobs at new Hickory plant

Corning Inc. will create at least 110 jobs over the next five years as part of an economic development agreement with the city of Hickory and Catawba County.

The agreement was announced at a joint meeting of the Hickory City Council, Catawba County Board of Commissioners and Trivium Corporate Center Board of Directors on Tuesday.

The Trivium Corporate Center board is made up of Hickory City Council members, county commissioners, the city and county managers and Catawba County Economic Development Corporation President Scott Millar.
