Furniture Academy to host information session on May 15

If you are interested in learning more about the CVCC Alexander Furniture Academy, an information session will be held on Monday, May 15 at 6:00 p.m. in room 218 at the CVCC Alexander Applied Technologies Center, located at 230 Industrial Boulevard in Taylorsville.

The information session will provide details about the furniture academy, the upcoming session which begins June 20, scholarship opportunities, and more. Students accepted into the academy will be provided tuition scholarships thanks to local furniture manufacturers and the American Home Furnishings Alliance.

The CVCC Alexander Furniture Academy is an industry-driven training program designed by local furniture manufacturers to prepare students for highly-paid sewing operator and upholstery craftsman positions that are in high demand by some of the region’s largest employers. The furniture academy is a collaborative effort of Alexander County Government, Catawba Valley Community College, and several furniture manufacturers in Alexander County.
