Grandview Middle students learn to cook, eat healthy

Even if you don’t like to cook, everyone likes to eat, and students at Grandview Middle took the first step in learning how to prepare their own healthy meals through the annual Kids Cook With Heart program.

For the third year, local chefs and nutritionists will spend two weeks working with select students from Hickory Public Schools Grandview and Northview Middle schools in grades six through eight.

The program is a partnership with the American Heart Association along with sponsors Tom and Diane Taylor, Corning and Mike Johnson’s Hickory Toyota. It wraps up with a cooking competition Oct. 14.
