
More than 1,600 high school sophomores from all three school districts in Catawba County received a chance to think about their future during the 10th-grade Extravaganza at Catawba Valley Community College on Wednesday.
The first-time event was organized by Education Matters in Catawba Valley, which previously held an event for sophomores at Bunker Hill, Alexander and Newton-Conover high schools.
By utilizing a day during the college’s fall break, Education Matters was able to grow the program to showcase what the college has to offer an even larger pool of local high school students.
