Hickory High JROTC students send care packages to soldiers

Members of the Hickory High School Army JROTC expressed their thanks to active duty service members earlier this week by sending more than 100 care packages to troops in Afghanistan.

The idea developed after the Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (JROTC) class viewed the film “Pay It Forward.”

JROTC Cpl. Monica Zambrano said the film was about a boy who decided to make a difference in the world by helping others.
