CVCC’s Manufacturing Academy Accepting Applications for Next Session

CVCC’s Manufacturing Academy is currently accepting applications for its next session which begins on October 17 and runs through December 15.  The Manufacturing Academy is a partnership with local companies throughout Catawba County which have come together to develop an industry-driven training course to prepare individuals for manufacturing positions that are in high demand by many of the region’s largest employers.

The program introduces students to the basic concepts of manufacturing and careers with local companies.  The course includes training in areas such as basic manufacturing concepts; measurements and math; teamwork and communications; safety; lean manufacturing; and problem solving.  Participants will also hear presentations from participating companies, with participants having the opportunity to apply for open positions with the companies for fast track placement into available jobs.

Participating companies include Advanced Pierre Foods, Bernhardt Furniture Company, Blue Ridge Molding, Century Furniture, CommScope Inc., Corning, Digipixart Inc., Geiger International, GKN Driveline, HSM Solutions, Kellex, LEE Industries, Lexington Home Brands, Manpower, McKinley Leather, Performance Foodservice Roma IFH, Plastic Packaging, ProStaffing, Prysmian Group, Punker, Inc., Roll-Tech Molding Products, LLC, RPM Wood Finishes Group, Sarstedt, Sherrill Furniture, Shurtape, Steele Rubber Products, Sutter Street Williams Sonoma, Target, Technibilt, Turbotec, United Beverages of NC, Vanguard Furniture, WestRock, and ZF Chassis Components.
