The Newton-Conover City Schools board voted to allow students to meet proficiency requirements for Career and Technical Education by passing a credentials exam, during Monday’s regular meeting.

Previously, students would have to take and pass their credentialing and their CTE final exam to show proficiency.

“This is in essence redundant,” NCCS Assistant Superintendent Aron Gabriel told the board.
