Students learn to be exceptional by design

For Maiden High School students, educational opportunities can happen anywhere, from the worktable of a carpentry classroom to the self-checkout lane at a grocery store.

Four years ago, Candace Stephens came up with the idea of starting an enterprise program for her students.

She teaches the multi-age high school class for students with disabilities following the extended content standards.
