With high school graduation only a couple of months away, Tuesday’s “Explore Your Future” event hosted by Catawba Valley Community College was a good reality check for those seniors who were still uncertain about what’s next in life.
“If you talk to a lot of these students, they have no idea what they want to do,” CVCC Apprenticeship Coordinator Kimberly Propst said. “Our job, regardless if they come to CVCC or not, is to educate them on all the opportunities in this area.”
Before Tuesday’s event, Propst said most of the students didn’t know what manufacturing companies were in Catawba County. They didn’t know what furniture companies were in the county or about apprenticeship programs.
